New library building

The new library of the city of Lensahn was born out of the idea of establishing a holistic center for the town hall and culture. This new center not only includes the new library, but also rooms for social services and the possibility of providing space for club work. The design fits into the existing structure of the town hall and the surrounding buildings. There are meeting areas and still the possibility of holding separate events. The existing connection between the library and the town hall will be retained in the same place on the ground floor, and a filter will be installed between the two buildings on the first floor. Structurally, the design is intended as a wooden structure with wooden exterior walls, roof supports and a bright, visible structure, which is emphasized by the many ribbon windows. The ribbon windows face south to receive as much sunlight as possible.
